City Hunter Review

city hunter, shita hanta, lee min ho, kim sang jung

So I was done watching City Hunter, a Korean Drama Series which was based on a Japanese novel by Tsukasa Hojo. There are 20 episodes in all. This was the first most expensive drama series that Korean drama has ever produced!

The drama was more in actions, a story of revenge, anger, betrayal, hatred and with a touch of love. I can say that this is the first Korean drama series that has ever touched me to the uttermost extent! It’s not a lie. Me and my sister loved this series so much because of the following reasons:

- The story is very nice and heartbreaking.

- A lots of twist. (you thought it was this and that, but then you wake up realizing that everything you had thought was wrong!)

- The characters were very well portrayed. The actors were cool and they deserve two thumbs up.

- The plot is not all about love between a man and a woman, but you’ll find it to be more like a family genra, the bond and trust and relationship between a father and a son.

- That despite Yoon Sung (Lee Min Ho) was just an adoptive son of Jin Pyo (Kim Sang-Jung) Yoon Sung would still end up helping his adoptive father in the midst of difficult situation, even though Jin Pyo was kind of bad.

- It makes you mad, sad, laugh, and at the same time – LOVE it!

- The episodes never fail to surprise you every now and then. It was worthy to watch it.

- Lee Min Ho and the other actors and actresses have done well in making their action moves.

- Very nice effects and scenes. With lots of high-tech gadgets.

- The last but not the least:  Jin Pyo (Kim Sang-Jung) was a good actor! We loved him so much in this series despite of his murderous intents…but we cannot blame him since he has heavy reasons.

The ending was very intense. I almost lost my breathe and really, indeed, I cried! The heck, I cried at the ending. The ending of this series is the best part that you won’t want to miss. I give this drama series a rating of 10 out of 10. With five stars. ^_^

It’s more fun in the Philippines!

“It’s more fun in the Philippines!”

That’s the new slogan for promoting the tourism in the Philippines this 2012. To tell you the truth, I’m not making this post to literally promote our tourism, but I just find the tourism photos to be fun and amusing. I was browsing in my facebook account and found the official page of Philippines’ Tourism. The photos are not mine, I don’t own any credits of it. But I just want to share it.

Who says that only The Flintstones have bikes like these? Well, somewhere in the Philippines, bike rides made of wood (photo below) are still ready on the run! Lol.

Oh yeha! They’re the group of gangsters in the Philippines! Hahaha. They’re a tribe. But wait, they’re not scary people…they’re actually nice!

Who’s got some plankings  out there? I think this guy’s planking poise is not that bad. He needs to be careful though, a car might hit him on the go.

Well, sometimes web browsing is used literally…hahaha! More fun in the Philippines!

Angry Birds are real! You can see and touch them in the Philippines! Haha!

Okay, that’s all for now…maybe I’ll upload more soon. Please comment and rate! Love lots.

Thankful I am

lone seat

A lone swinging seat. I sued to sit alone during my childhood days, especially at school. I was a person who didn’t like crowd, I was introvert. I used to have my own world, a world that I created myself so that I wouldn’t worry being misunderstood, because in my world I alone mattered. Others were just secondary. I was selfish even to my own emotions. I graduated from elementary with only two close friends, and I graduated from high school with only two best friends.

I remembered those childhood times. Wherein I used to sit on the swinging seat in front of our house, wherein my childhood friend would occasionally invite me to play hide and seek. The only game I could play without having to worry about hospitals. Yes, I was that kind of girl.

a changed life

But now, everything has changed. I’m a university student with lots of friends, friends that would uplift me, friends that care about me, they who make me smile. God has touched my heart, He has changed me into a new person, a person that could do so much better, a person that could then change someone’s life by sharing her testimonies in the past years of her life.

I am so thankful today. Now, it is my pleasure to write and share to the nations just how grateful I am to the Lord our God.

sister and me

I am also thankful to my older sister, Mitch, for she has supported me all this time in comes to trials, successes and failures that I make. She disciplines me in behalf of our parents who are living quite far from us.

There comes a time when the only way to love a person is not to love him at all.

And there was a time that I came to a point that I actually did the same thing from the above quote. A friend of mine sent me this quote via SMS, and know what, my first reaction was like: “Teenagers nowadays…gah.” I mean, I rate it 95% that almost teenagers in this generation are so obsessed with the conception of LOVE, if not, then frustrated. Without having the desire to reply such an SMS, I deleted it from my inbox.

I have had failed relationships from the past, of course, but it wasn’t the main reason why I am very lofty and distant now when it comes to love matters or topics, especially when my friends are talking about their own love stories. There is another BIG reason why I avoid this topic as much as I can. And I will tell the reason later in this post.

First and foremost, I had experienced that quote from above when I was transferred to another college, specifically here in Davao as a first year irregular. I wasn’t yet BORN AGAIN that time, so there were lots of things in my life that I couldn’t still grasp to understand. I was full of depressing thoughts and I was emotionally unstable when I first took my independence day from my parents, if truth be told. Once, when I was a first year student…I happened to have a Philosophy professor who was completely different from the previous teachers I’ve known.By different I mean, he’s just literally different – from appearance to personal insights. Not to mention that he’s teaching Philosophy, well, that makes him a philosopher and he’s very wise. One thing I learned from him, a major impact you may add, was NO to debating.

So why am I talking about him all of a sudden? Well, because he was the first person I had fallen in love with — deeply and seriously — even though I have had many crushes (and boyfriends) before. My classmates noticed it as days went by, and even though I made no comments or admission that I REALLY did like (love?) him, they knew how great the impact HE had injected in my life. I mean, our Philosophy professor was the first person aside from my family who had great influence in my life. That was before…when I was in my first year college.

That professor and I were close…at least in my own understanding during those times. But little did I know, I had dig my own graveyard. I fell in the pit hole and I almost went back to being emotionally unstable. Not the crazy thing, okay, just emotionally stress.

Because he was my teacher and I was his student, everything seemed so difficult upon my eyes. Until it came to a point that it was difficult for me to stand in front of his class. Every day to me during those times were like self-torture, because I always see him and he didn’t even know that I had stubbornly developed some feelings for him. Because of my WRONG conceptions of LOVE, I suffered the consequences the whole semester.

I do admit now that I actually loved him, and I want to make a note that LOVED is different from LOVE. Technically speaking, the term “i like (love?) him” is not valid now since it was just from before, a long, long ago for me.

How I happened to surrender my feelings for him?

How did I manage to give up my misplaced emotions? Well…let’s just say….

That there comes a time when the only way to love a person is not to love him at all.

JENINE

P.S. I give all the thanks and glory to the Lord our God that he has given me another chance to correct and discipline myself. I praise God for he has healed me. I believe God always has a plan. I love Him because He has created me a dramatic past yet a wonderfully life story. He has blessed me so much now. You…should give time to give thanks to Him, too.

There comes a time when t…

Part-time Webmaster: Slab Lifting

Howdy, my fellow bloggers! Wow, I’ve been off from wordpress for more than three months…I think? Haha. Well, a lot of things had been happening in my formerly normal (student) life now. First, I won a NanoWrimo novel entry which is actually on-hold now but I’m nearly done with it. Three months to go and viola–the promo code with CreateSpace will soon expire. I don’t know when would I’d be able to finish writing my book since I’m so busy in school, especially now that our semester is going to end this month. On the other hand, I am also becoming more and more active in our church, Maranatha Family Church. I have this desire and calling to serve the LORD our God and make Him my top most priority in life.

Anyhoo, the main reason why my book is on-hold, or rather say it’s on hiatus is that…..dum-da-ra-dammmmmm~

.

I’m actually working now as PART-TIME WEBMASTER of a certain foreign client!!!
slab lifting, concrete foundation repair, foudation repair, webmaster

slablifting.com

Yahaha! Yeah, that is so true. I’ve got hired and now I’m running to fulltime webmaster which is a good thing for me, of course. I am currently managing this website project now: http://slablifting.com/ It’s not yet fully completed since it still lack contents. But we’re moving on forward. As of the moment, I am processing it’s traffics and SEO stuffs. Fortunately, http://slablifting.com/ has ranked number 11 now in Google search engine via keyword “slab lifting”. Rank 9 in Aol.

I would deeply appreciate it if YOU would take time to click and visit this site http://slablifting.com/ in which I am working on.  Of course, we were using wordpress in this site it’s because wordpress has become more and more famous and user-friendly, not to mention that it’s more webmaster-friendly. I’m still working with some stuffs with my client and when it’s all done and settled and ready, then I’d be making a NEW theme and upload it exclusively for http://slablifting.com/ which is my field of course.

As of now, I would like to let you know that I would appreciate any feedbacks, suggestions, criticisms, and other stuffs related to the site I’m currently working on.

THANKS!

JENINE.

My First Novel – a NaNoWrimo Entry

So yeah, after winning the National Novel Writing Month last November 2011, reaching up to 51,150 word counts, I was again back in my normal day-to-day activities: going to school, studying and do some school research, reports, and the most tiring (better say the most vital and difficult at all times) is making computer programs! Since I’m an Information Technologist student, programming, designing and making websites or webpages are not new to us – in fact, it’s our major. To be honest, nah, I sometimes dislike my course. It’s kind of tiring especially when I lack the motivation to face the computer and start making machine codes. Duh. Sometimes I regret why I took this course. LOL. On the other, I enjoy it. However tiring and – welldifficult (in this case I am referring to our ultra-murderous professors) I am actually enjoying making webpages and codes. But I am not a pro okay. I will go there soon. Haha.

So, back to the topic, since I won the NaNoWrimo then I am given the chance to self-publish my work in Amazon and Createspace eStore. Plus, I’d be given 5 paperback copies of my own novel. Ah, I’m so excited about this. This has been my long-time dream. I wanted to become a writer you know, an author, but nah I ended up taking other course. I’m also considering my family, I think they won’t like me becoming an author, in fact, my sister once said when she caught me writing, “Then? Will it benefit you in return? You’re just wasting time.” Well, well, well, who won’t be disappointed with that, noting that it was your older sister who said it? Anyhoo, what she said didn’t discouraged me. In fact, I was even encouraged to do more and finish my first novel. When I get my free copies, I’d give one copy to my sister and tell her, “I did it after all!”

As of now, I’m already in the 24th chapter in my book. And I still have 3 more chapters to write. Then I’d do some revisions and editing. It will be soon enough to submit my manuscript. I know I can do this. The only enemy that is blocking my way is time and the busy-ness in school. Gee. But other than that, I hope for the best.

To see the synopis of my novel, just navigate to my page NaNoWrimo. Or click this.  I already posted the main character profiles, you can check them if you want…and I would really appreciate criticisms. Your opinions matter to me! ^_^

P.S I was thinking that maybe when I publish this book on amazon, I will set a low price for my book. Haha. So that it is affordable and some people can actually buy it! Nyaha. Because actually, I’m not after the money or royalties coming from this book, what I actually what is for people to read my writings. And see my name on a published book. ^_^

Fashion Avenue

So I was playing a facebook game just some minutes ago…and perhaps I’d be playing again after posting this. The very first game I ever played in facebook was farmville but then later I got tired of it. After months of procrastination, I then discovered this fashion game called “Fashion Avenue” – the name itself attracted me. Why? Because a girl like me really likes fashion, I admire fashion dresses and other trendy things in the closet that is out in the market. The thing is, they’re mostly expensive and costly. But then, in this game I can wear whatever fashion I want! Haha. It feels good. Though it’s just a game. Well, they look cute, like dolls, anyway.

fashionista

I enjoy dressing up my character in Fashion Avenue. Surely, it soothes my stress mind in my most day-to-day basis. Actually, I’m very fond of online games not just this one…in fact, I’ve played war games like Warcraft, Gunz, and Counter Strike! Haha. Who plays Battle Realms here? How about Yuri? Haha.

Farmville in the Phillipines!

They are T’boli farmers at Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, Philippines. Farming is their way of living and making the ends meet! Farming is fun! I remembered my grandparents about this, coz my grandma has her own farm in the mountains and she used to plow the land for her veggies. The heavy work was tasked to heavy men, anyway.

manny

Is there anyone here who doesn’t know Manny Pacquiao? He’s the world’s boxing champ and my number one boxing hero. Well, to be honest, his mansion house in General Santos City was just few meters away from our house (I live permanently in GenSan with my parents, though I’m here in Davao now for my studies). In fact, my father had a photo with him on it when he had a seminar in the hotel where Manny used to stay. I’m not boasting, I’m just sharing it hahaha…Maybe I’d scan the photo and post it here? LOL. Well, during that time Manny Pacquiao wasn’t yet famous as he is right now.

soccer

Filipinos are fond of sports, I am one! Although I’m not an athletic person, I enjoy watching sports especially boxing, soccer, basketball, formula1 race, badminton, wrestling and even kickboxing! But if I were to say, I’m more than an indoor gamer myself. I enjoy playing chess, science dama, scrabble, word factory, cards, and mostly are computer games – online games. I envy my younger cousins, all of the three siblings are soccer players! They go to local, district to division competitions. They’re fond of soccer and I’m one of their fans. Haha. I used to watched UJ (the youngest one who plays soccer, age 7, but he started playing around 5) playing soccer in the green field…I tell you, he looked funny and cute.

Exams – More Fun in the Philippines!

I’ve found this photo in 9gag awhile ago. Exams? It’s more fun in the Philippines! Well, why not? The above photo is inspired by an anime called NARUTO.

This is Asuma Sarutobi from Naruto, I think the guy from above was cosplaying this character.  Or maybe…not. Because he has glasses but Asuma doesn’t wear any. I’m not familiar with all the ninjas in Naruto, so I cannot determine which ninja he was cosplaying. Anyway, cosplaying, a short term for costume play, is very trending now in my country. A lot has been doing this as a hobby, interest, or just for fun. I myself had cosplayed once, actually it was last year in October, wherein I cosplayed my favorite character – Alois Trancy. I cross-dressed. Meaning, I cosplayed a male character. I’d be posting my cosplay photo next time.

Many young Filipinos love this anime, especially the Konoha ninjas. So it didn’t surprise me if a teacher or a student would cosplay (costume play) one of the characters. Filipinos are fond of anime, cartoon characters or manga, even PSP games and online games are not exempted. One of the msot famous Filipina gamer I’ve known is Alodia Gosiengfao, she’s also a cosplayer. You can check out one of Alodia’s cosplay photos below.

Alodia is a very pretty woman. She looks like a doll, in fact, some people say she’s a living doll on earth. Well, they have a point. I’m one of the many fans of Alodia. She is known as the Queen of Cosplay in the Philippines. You can browse her cosplay photos in the internet, and google will definitely give you more than enough.
